The 1827 vintage port from A.J. da Silva is a truly unique and exceptional bottle. This port was produced at the height of the Douro region's wine-making history and has been aged for nearly 200 years, making it one of the oldest and rarest ports in the world.
The grapes for this port were hand-picked from the Quinta do Allem vineyard, which was owned and operated by the da Silva family. The vineyard, located in the Douro valley, was acquired by António José da Silva, a port shipper from Porto, in 1894 after it was devastated by Phylloxera. He then set out to restore the property by replanting the vines, and in 1973, the company name was officially changed to Quinta do Noval. This bottle is a true testament to the rich history and legacy of this esteemed port producer.
The 1827 vintage port from A.J. da Silva is not only a wine but also a piece of history, a window to the past, and a glimpse of the Douro region's rich wine-making heritage. The taste, aroma, and color of this port are a testament to the dedication and passion of the da Silva family and the skilled winemakers who have produced it. It's a true collector's item that should be savored and enjoyed like a rare gem.
